WHAT WILL HYPNOBIRTHING DO FOR ME (us)?
It will give you an understanding of how the body works. You will be able to learn how to use your body’s natural resources, relaxation, visualisation and special breathing, understanding how the fear-tension-pain syndrome works on your body.
HOW LARGE ARE THE HYPNOBIRTHING CLASSES?
The classes are for you and your partner. Small groups may also be available if you wish.
WHERE ARE THE CLASSES HELD?
Classes are held in Box Hill.
ARE CLASSES HELD IN ANY OTHER LOCATIONS.
Yes. If you do not live in the Melbourne metropolitan area, classes may be arranged by prior appointment.
WHEN IS IT A GOOD TIME TO START CLASSES?
At 24-32 weeks gestation
CAN I BRING A PARTNER?
A birth partner or support is encouraged to attend classes. You will learn techniques that will help you maintain your focus and relaxation during labour. They will also help to create a safe, calm environment (birth room) for you and your baby.
WHEN DO THE CLASSES TAKE PLACE?
Weeknights 7:00pm to 9:30pm and every second Saturday. Please contact us for availability of classes.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE COST OF THE CLASSES?
The costs include classes for both you and your partner. Class workbook, instructional CD’s a DVD and handouts.
WHAT IS HYPNOSIS OR SUBCONSCIOUS AWARENESS?
When you are not aware of time or your surroundings. For example: you may have been concentrating and working on your computer for 3 hours in real time but you feel that you have only been there some 15-20 minutes. This is a dreamlike state that a person goes into many times a day. In this state you are open to positive suggestions. These are practised throughout the classes.
WHAT IS THE COST OF CLASSES FOR MASSAGE?
$65.00 and it is Healthcare refundable
HOW LONG ARE THE MASSAGE CLASSES?
One hour per session
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GO TO MASSAGE CLASSES?
As frequently as you feel. This may be more frequent in later stages of pregnancy
DO I NEED ANY SPECIAL CLOTHING FOR MASSAGE CLASSES?
No. Simple comfortable clothing is best.
CAN FATHER GET INVOLVED IN THE MASSAGE?
Yes, we run induction classes for fathers.
